God's Revelation? His Invitation!!!

There are a lot of us Christians that spend a huge amount of time talking to each other about "seeking God's will," as though it were hidden and difficult to find. Let me be frank today, God does not hide His will. His will is not difficult to discover. We do not have to plead with Him to reveal His will to us. Quite the contrary, He is more eager to reveal His will than we are willing to receive it! We sometimes ask God to do things that He has already done!

"Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets." Amos 3:7.

Let's look at the people in Amos's day for a moment. They had become disoriented to God and His desires. God had revealed His will to them; the problem was that they had not recognized it or obeyed it. Amos declared that God does nothing in the affairs of humanity without seeking one of His servants to whom He will reveal His activity. Tragically, there are times when no one is walking closely enough with Him to be receptive to His Word.

Jesus walked so intimately with His Father that He was always aware of what the Father was doing around Him. Jesus said that if our eyes are pure, they will see God and recognize His activity. Friends, if we are not seeing God's activity in our lives, or around us, the problem is not a lack of revelation. The problem is that our sin prevents us from noticing it! If our spiritual eyes are pure, we will be overwhelmed by all that we see God doing around us. However, if we have allowed sin to creep into our lives, we will be "out of tune" to what God is doing. We do not need more revelation, we need more repentance!! We need to turn back to the Lord, understand His complete will given to us through His Word, and then wait for Him to invite us to join Him in His redemptive work. If we are looking for God's will inn our life, maybe we are looking in the wrong places. Maybe we need to look inside of our own hearts first? Could be that God's will for our life is already there? Only you know!

May God Richly Bless You Today!! H Trent!

We Are Royal Priests!!!

If you are a Christian, you are a priest, chosen by God. As members of the royal priesthood we have constant access to the King. If there is ever a need in our life, we don't have to find an intermediary or enlist another priest in order to gain a hearing from the King. Our position as royal priests allows us direct access. This privilege describes our position as a priest. "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." 1 Peter 2:9. We need to also understand that priests also have a function. It is the responsibility of a priest to work within a priesthood. Scripture does not promote the practice of individual priests, each with a separate ministry. Priests are supposed to function together. (Lev. 9:1). An unbiblical sense of individualism can isolate us from functioning within God's royal priesthood as He intend...

Thinking About Calling Down Fire!?!

James and John were refered to as "the Sons of Thunder" in the Bible. When they discovered a Samaritan village that would not receive Jesus, they were fully prepared to call down fire to consume the entire community. "And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?" Luke 9:54. Maybe they felt that through such a show of power, the gospel message might be enhanced. The two brothers were willing to sacrifice the lives of the village in order to further the cause of the gospel. However, Jesus rebuked them! Later, the apostles heard that Samaria had responded to the gospel. Guess who was commissioned to go and help them receive the Holy Spirit? None other but Peter and John! It was God's purpose that the people not be destroyed but saved! God chose not to rain down fire on the village, but to shower it with His Holy Spirit! I wonder what w...

Our Spiritual Preparation!!!

This weekend I had the pleasure of having a study lesson with an incredible teacher! She was very wise and had an incredible anointing of the Spirit upon her. One of the things that stuck with me was when she was talking about how important it is to be in God's Word and how there was a time when she couldn't sleep past 2:30 in the morning that she found herself praying deeply and pouring through God's Word in ways she had never done before. It was only later, after her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer, that she realized that the Lord had been preparing her spirit for the trial that lay ahead. That is the key today! There is no substitute for spiritual preparation! Had she not prepared herself through God and His word, she wouldn't have had near the courage or strength to go through what lay before her. Spiritual preparation equips us for unforeseen crises or opportunities. However, if we are unprepared spiritually, we will be vulnerable to life's unexpecte...
