Judgment Or Holiness!?!

There comes a point in a minister's life when the call of God is so strong that it just can't be ignored. That is the position that I find myself in as I write this tonight. God has asked me to step out of my comfort zone and into the unknown to boldly proclaim His Word throughout our land in hopes of opening the eyes of His people once again. We are facing severe problems in this nation of ours not only as Americans, but as Christians. As I listen to the radio, read the newspaper, watch t.v., I am not only appalled, but saddened. Where is the voice of God in our land? Where are all the Christians? I know that some of you might be saying, "Well, there are Christians here, can't you see them?" My answer is yes I see them, but I don't see all of them, and I don't see all of us as God wants us to be. God will not condone apostasy and idolatry for very long! There is a point where God's mercy will turn to judgment!

"If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Could it be that this short message is harsh? Maybe the question should be, could it be that as a nation, America has become harsh to God and we have allowed it? Think about it for a moment, our children are not allowed to pray or read their Bible in school, but they can be taught about abortion, homosexuality, sexual activities!?! Think about it, we have to practice "political correctness," but our government doesn't have to be correct with us!?! Think about it, we spend millions trying to win the lottery or taking vacations or buying our precious toys, yet there is still homeless and hunger in our own nation!?! Think about it, we can go out on the town and easily drop a hundred dollars on having a night of fun with family or friends, but can't even bring ourselves to drop 5 bucks in the offering plate!?! Think about it, we will quickly jump in our cars at anytime night or day and drive hundreds of miles to play on lakes or climb up mountains or ride in amusement parks, but we can't even take 3 hours one day a week to drive across town to attend God's church!?! Think about it, we spend hundreds of millions of dollars to elect officials to office that we believe will fix everything that is wrong with our nation, spend millions to protect our environment, spend millions, spend millions, spend millions......when in reality all we really have to do is get back to God, stand up for holiness, stop trying to ask the world to fix problems only God can fix.

Friends, there is a call out. Our churches are going empty, our Bibles are becoming dusty, our offerings are becoming nothing. A believers, as Christians, as God's people, can we sit idly by and allow the spreading of wickedness to continue? I challenge you to speak to God and then allow Him to answer. I challenge you to open your eyes and your hearts to what is happening around us. I challenge you to stop asking someone else to do it, and to start doing it yourself by the grace of God. Allow God to use you. We need to humble ourselves and turn back to Him if there is ever going to be any hope for our land. Search your Bible, search history, any nation, including Israel, that ever made the choice to turn from God and start relying on itself, didn't remain a nation for very long.

May God Richly Bless You Today!! H Trent!

Thinking About Calling Down Fire!?!

James and John were refered to as "the Sons of Thunder" in the Bible. When they discovered a Samaritan village that would not receive Jesus, they were fully prepared to call down fire to consume the entire community. "And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?" Luke 9:54. Maybe they felt that through such a show of power, the gospel message might be enhanced. The two brothers were willing to sacrifice the lives of the village in order to further the cause of the gospel. However, Jesus rebuked them! Later, the apostles heard that Samaria had responded to the gospel. Guess who was commissioned to go and help them receive the Holy Spirit? None other but Peter and John! It was God's purpose that the people not be destroyed but saved! God chose not to rain down fire on the village, but to shower it with His Holy Spirit! I wonder what w

On Earth as it is in Heaven!

As believers, I know that we question the situations and culture that we find ourselves in during these times.  We wonder what has happened to our world and why are things happening as they are.  I also hear fellow brothers and sisters in Christ complaining that something should be done, but they themselves do not want to get involved. Lastly, why aren't the miracles and power of God not being manifest during our lifetime?  The answer my friends is that we have forgotten to Whom we belong and that the battle is always fought on our knees!  To many, this could be a passive way of stating that this is all that we can do, but I would like to say that we need a change of thinking and praying in order to start seeing the results that we so desperately desire!  I want us to really take a deep look at the Lord's Prayer: "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.   Give us this

The Fruit of the Spirit!!

As one examines what the Scriptures teach about the fruits of the Spirit, you could be intimidated. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23. Working all nine of these traits into our life seems impossible, and it is. However, the moment we became Christians, the Holy Spirit began a divine work to produce Christ's character in us. Let me say this, regardless of who you are, the Spirit works from the same model, Jesus Christ. The Spirit looks to Christ in order to find the "blueprint" for your character. The Spirit will immedately begin helping you experience and practice this same love that Jesus had when He laid down His life for His friends. The same joy He experienced will be filled in you. The identical peace that guarded the heart of Jesus, even as He was being beaten and mocked, will be the peace that the Spirit
